Re: Phone call from Msgr. Albert
We hear from Msgr.
Albert often throughout the year and he never fails to thank us for the
support we provide to his people in Ghana. He recently called to
say that the boxes of supplies we sent him early in the summer have
arrived and their contents distributed. He thanks you all most
sincerely. A sampling of other messages from e-mails received are
below.

"...I take this
opportunity to express once again my truly deep sentiments of gratitude
to all the groups and individuals in St. Patrick's who are making all
this possible. You may never be able to fathom the great
missionary work that you are doing! But that is what you are
actually doing from St. Patrick's, Kennett Square, Pa. is as
Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen of blessed memory once said: "All
Christians are called to be missionaries. Some go to the missions
as missionaries, others go to the missions through their prayers for
those who actually go, and yet others go through their material
contributions for the work of the missionaries and the people they are
evangelizing!" I will say it is the latter two that you are all
doing, and in particular the third one that your groups are doing
through all these packages that you send to me.
"Through the
monetary gifts of some individuals among you, and the collections that
Father Sharrett always makes sure he gets for me each time I come there,
we are able to sponsor, at least in good part, a number of truly needy
students, both at The Catholic University [of Ghana] and in other
institutions, besides other material contributions I make to the
University directly ....
"Without those
packages and what all of St. Patrick's Parish does to help me, I would
never have been able to carry out the missionary activities the Lord has
called me to. May His name be blessed forever ...."

"I just want to
acknowledge the arrival of the very joyful news concerning the two boxes
you have sent with those, indeed, essential items!
I could hardly
contain my joy when I accessed the message from you, and read its
content. As always, I will immediately let you know when the boxes
with their contents arrive here in Ghana.
Before then, please
know of my sincere thanks in anticipation. With regards to keeping
you in my prayers, I
like to repeat that you can always count on it daily, for my friend,
Father Sharrett, and for you all at Saint Pat's, especially for you the
team to which I immediately owe all these blessings in this form, as you
work so consistently to organize for my needs back here in the
Missions."
