 | Food for the Poor:
Restoring the poorest of the poor in the Caribbean and Latin America
with food and water and homes. 550 SW 12th Avenue, Deerfield Beach, FL
33442. (954) 427-2222. Charitable contributions to groups such as this
have huge significance in outreaching to others, particularly in Third World
countries where our dollars are multiplied many times over. Food for
the Poor, for example, indicates that a donation of $20 can buy 200 pounds
of beans and rice, providing a meal of complete protein for 800 children;
$50 can provide antibiotics and nutritional supplements for critically ill
children; $150 can furnish a foot-pedaled sewing machine and materials for a
skills-training workshop; $500 can provide the necessary school supplies to
educate an entire classroom of children for one year; and $2,000 can build a
basic house for a family living in a tin and cardboard shack. God
invites us to recognize His presence in the poor. To receive a video
about this ministry please call (954) 427-2222. |
 | Lay
Mission-Helpers Association.
We are a Catholic community of lay people (single men and women and

talents, learning from one another, and joining together in the
struggle for a more just and compassionate world.
