Scores of Parishioners Recruited at First Ministry Fair

Several hundred parishioners visited the 30 or more booths at the Ministry Fair held on the weekend of September 29-30. Approximately 50 people signed up to join our ministries as a result of this initiative.

The first ministry fair was held on the weekend of September 29-30 in the church basement. Virtually every ministry in the parish actively participated by sponsoring a table with information about the purposes and activities of each ministry. A representative from each ministry was present after each of the five weekend Masses to answer parishioners' questions about the ministries.

Several hundred parishioners attended the ministry fair over the course of the weekend.  About 50 parishioners joined various ministries during that weekend.  Another  25 parishioners expressed an interest in joining one or more new ministries through submitting a ministry card in the Sunday collection or through completing the new ministry interest form that was part of the annual census mailing. 

Eighteen of our 40 ministries recruited at least one new member as a result of the ministry fair initiative.  Several ministries recruited five or more new members to their ministry. 
The parish stewardship committee, under the leadership of Belinda Fero and Rick Parchen, sponsored the Ministry Fair.  The hospitality committee, led by Kathy Anderson, provided coffee and donuts or wine and cheese to coincide with the Ministry Fair event.  The stewardship committee appreciates the efforts of the hospitality committee and the leaders of each ministry who made an outstanding success of this effort.
