Have you ever
thought about your Catholic education and the difference Catholic school
may have made in your life? We asked some alumni from St. Patrick
School just that question recently, evoking many happy memories of
childhood which, in some cases, was many years ago.
In addition to
speaking of religion and related issues that made them what they are
today, St. Pat’s alumni spoke of everything from school uniforms, to
bringing fresh flowers to Mary’s shrine in May.
They spoke of nuns
selling ice cream — and sometimes even hot dogs — at lunch, to girls
wearing blue ribbons in their hair.
They spoke of
parents attending 8:30 a.m. Sunday Mass in the school auditorium, so the
children and the sisters could worship together in church.
