Catholic
Charities USA has been commissioned by the U.S. bishops to represent the
Catholic community in times of domestic disaster. Its agencies are
mobilizing to help victims and their families recover from the September
11 terrorist attacks. They are providing counseling, assisting with
economic recovery, emergency cash, housing, rental and day care.
Contributions
may be made in any of three ways:

Catholic
Relief Services: In Pakistan, providing water, health and
sanitation education in refugee camps. Latrines are also under
construction for camp residents. CRS also will provide blankets
and quilts, sleeping mats, soap and basic household supplies like
cooking pots to 30,000 people. In Afghanistan, CRS has a local
Afghan partner for its planned relief efforts and is preparing to make
an initial distribution of food to 4,000 households and blankets to
20,000 households. Catholic Relief Services provided more than

Catholic
Medical Mission Board, Inc.: Provides healthcare services to
people in need around the world. These services include the
provision of medicines and medical supplies, training, disease
eradication programs, volunteer placements, and emergency
relief. The Catholic Medical Mission Board provided more than
