Family Commissions Chairperson: Agnes Murphy, 386-956-2403
The Family Commission, through Agnes Murphy, has been collecting baby supplies one a year to donate to the AIDS Baby Ministry in Daytona Beach for about five years now. We are looking into expanding this ministry to make it year round by searching for knitters who would be willing to knit hats and booties, quilters who would be willing to make baby quilts, and people who would be willing to buy baby products and clothes to donate as an ongoing project.
We are also interested in collecting baby products and maternity wear to donate to the Crisis Pregnancy Center. Convincing mothers to have their babies, whether they keep the infants or put them up for adoption, will be easier if the mother knows that there are people who are willing to help her with the basic needs of pregnancy, such as clothes, food, and rides to the doctor's office.
We will also look into supporting Project Rachael, a ministry within the Church that counsels women and men who have suffered the trauma of abortion. We understand that we all sin and, as Jesus said: let he who is without sin cast the first stone.
