Marriage and Family Resource Center in Budapest, Hungary
HFF sent books and resource materials on marriage and family to Laszlo
Pribek of Budapest, Hungary. Mr. Pribek earned his Licentiate in
Sacred Doctrine from the International Institute of Theology in Gaming,
Austria. Now he is starting a Marriage and Family Resource Center
in his hometown of Budapest. The Center will offer lectures and workshops
on marriage and family as well as provide books and brochures for families.
Mr. Pribek said that couples and families urgently need to hear the Church's
teaching on the value of family especially now during the post-Communist
period. We hope our small contribution may help to establish a thriving
family center in Budapest.
Diocesan Family Service Centre in Goa, India
HFF sent materials on marriage and family to Fr. Francisco Caldeira,
who for fifteen years has been the Director of the Family Service Centre
sponsored by the Diocese. The Centre offers courses for adolescents
on chastity and the Christian life, weekend retreats for couples preparing
for marriage and family counselling for families experiencing any variety
of problems. Books and printing are quite unaffordable in India.
So we hope our small contribution may aid Fr. Caldeira and his colleagues
and their service.
Dear Mr. Fung,
I am privileged to receive your parcel of books, just today. I thank
you very much and I do not know how I can thank you enough. Your books
and the compendia you sent are really precious and well selected. To select
the chapters and the books must have been quite a work for you. I really
appreciate the gift of those books, Love and Responsibility and
Gift and Mystery are the ones I was searching eagerly. By postal
mail I am sending you the report of our activities from September last
to August this year. Next year our Centre is completing 25 years of its
activities in service of the family and the Church in Goa. This coincides
with the Great Jubilee of the year 2000. Our Centre has been entrusted
with three celebrations, that of the day of fathers, the day of mothers
and the day of the family, on May 1, December 8 and November 7, respectively.
On December 26, this year, to launch the silver jubilee of the Centre there
will be an inaugural mass and an office will be opened to the south of
the diocese and the Konkani, my mother tongue, translation of the Apostolic
Exhortation Familiaris Consortio will be released at the hands of
our Archbishop patriarch. I will send to you a copy of this translation
and the further developments of our celebrations. My fondest regards to
you and success in your work.
Yours sincerely,
Fr. Francisco Caldeira.
In addition to the Foundation's educational
and advocacy activities, we strongly believe in tithing and our responsibility
to share what we have. Therefore it is our policy to commit 10% of
our operating budget towards service projects and other charities.
If you would like to help, contact
