Student Health Services
A registered school nurse spends one
school day a week at St. Joseph School and is on call daily for emergencies.
Medication - If a family is unable to schedule medication
around school hours and a child must receive it at school:
1. The school nurse must receive a written authorization from a
parent and the doctor. The medicine must be in the original
pharmacy container.
2. The container must be clearly identified as to the name, type
and dosage of the medication.
3. The prescription must be current.
4. A responsible adult must deliver the properly labeled
medication to the school nurse.
Accepting students with allergies that are not controlled will be
screened. The school nurse, principal, and parent will
cooperatively make a decision whether the child is accepted or
not.
