PRESS RELEASE

The United States Department of Education recently announced that
St. Joseph School in Rockville is a recipient of the No Child Left Behind – Blue Ribbon Schools Award. The award honors schools which reflect the goals of the nation’s education reforms for high standards and accountability. St. Joseph School was recognized as a school that is in the top 10 percent of schools in the nation in reading and math as measured by standardized testing. Private schools are also judged on an overall view of the school which includes curriculum and instruction, professional development, and parent involvement. St. Joseph School’s Blue Ribbon Committee included faculty and parents. Lucia Trudeau, Principal, and Patricia Hess, teacher/parent, will represent the school at the awards ceremony to be held in Washington, D.C. on November 9-10.

We are very excited and proud of our school! I would also like to share with you some additional facts not included in the press release. There were only three schools in the State of Connecticut chosen to receive the award. St. Joseph School was the only private school in the state chosen to receive the award. This is a significant accomplishment. We will be having celebrations throughout the next few months to honor the students and parents. We would be honored to have you share in those celebrations with us.

Sincerely,

Lucia M. Trudeau, Principal
