CCD Guidelines

As the primary educator of your child, your adherence to the following will help ensure the spiritual growth of your child and help contribute to his/her Faith education.

- Take your child to Mass on Sundays and Holy Days;
- Teach your child his/ her prayers;
- Bring your child regularly to class;
- Enable your child to stay the full class session;
- Read and discuss your child's religion text; ( see text review section for parents )
- Help your child study, complete assigned work, and prepare for tests;
- Help your child make up missed work due to absence.

* Courtesy, cooperation and responsibility are essential elements of religious education. Children attending St. Joseph's after-school religious education classes are expected to:

- be respectful and cooperative with teachers, parents, and other students;
- do assigned class work and homework.

* Parents will be notified if their child is disrespectful or disruptive. Dismissal from the program will occur with any child repeatedly exhibiting inappropriate behavior. We ask that the children do not bring food or drink to the school, do not touch materials in and around the classrooms and student desks, and be respectful of school property.

* Formal evaluations of your child's progress are sent home in December and at the close of the school year. Periodic phone calls or notes may be made to share with you your child's successes and achievements or any particular difficulties your child may be experiencing.

Safety -

Parents are asked to park in the large upper parking lot and walk with your child to the lower lot behind the school, which will be cordoned off from traffic to ensure safety.
