Religion, Responsibility and
Respect
St. Joseph School is rooted in the Catholic
Faith, .... faith in God, family life,
and Christian values. The three basic R's, Religion, Respect and
Responsibility, play a very important role in building
St. Joseph's school community.
Religion
Theology is the study of God, His creation and Salvation History.
Recognizing God's tremendous love the teaching of Religion
stresses how persons may live following Sacred Scripture; that
prayer is essential in the life of a Christian; that the
reception of the Sacraments and use of the Sacraments strengthens
faith and grace.
Responsibility
Recognizing that each person has special talents which should be
respected and nurtured, teachers and parents must hold children
responsible for their own behavior and academic performance.
Communication between parents and teachers should be as frequent
as the needs of the individual child require.
Respect
Respect for each person and property is basic. Polite behavior is
expected toward other children and adults in the school. Defacing
and / or destroying school property ( books, etc.) is not
tolerated. Politeness is greatly encouraged. Infringement on a
person's rights will have a consequence depending on the
seriousness of the action.
