Sunday 22nd November 2009 : Christ the Universal King "Musicians' Mass" In the Calendar of Saints, 22nd November is the feast of St Cecilia, patron of musicians and of church music. This year St Cecilia has to give way to the Solemnity of Christ the Universal King, one of the most important days in the Church's year. However we'd like to take the opportunity to invite all of the musicians in the Parish to bring their instruments to the 11.00 a.m. Mass on that day and play them. It doesn't matter what instrument or instrument you play, or what level of experience you have, you are welcome to join in. You don't have to play in every piece either. As long as we know what instruments we are expecting, we will have the music in the correct key and arranged to suit your level of experience. Let us know in advance and you'll have the music a week or two beforehand. At least once before the Feast we'll arrange a rehearsal so that everyone knows what we are doing. The time and date will be arranged once we know who is playing. On the day itself we'll, please meet at the Church ready to start, by 9.30 a.m. (Regular Musicians please note earlier that usual start time). We'll then have a final run through. To let us know that you want to play please send an e-mail to the music@saint-thomas-more.com to tell us which instrument(s) you play, your grade or experience and how to contact you.
