RENDEZVOUS
It is the turn on St. Columba's Parish to provide the hospitality at the weekly ecumenical Service held in the United Reform Church in Broadway on the Wednesday Market Day. Help is needed from 12.30pm in providing and serving the lunch that follows the Service at 1pm next Wednesday, 7th May, 2008. Volunteers are asked to contact Tina Pearce.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENT WEEKEND
Each year the Churches of Amersham and Chesham invite about 30 overseas students to stay in local homes - this year 21/22nd June. The success of the venture depends on hosts who will welcome the students into their homes. A poster at the back of the church gives more information and a contact - Mariam Hillyard.

CYCLE OF PRAYER
During Eastertide we are asked to remember particularly in our prayers:
Human Work (especially on May 1st, St. Joseph the Worker.)
Vocations to the Priesthood (especially on 4th Sunday in Easter.)
The Right use of the Media (especially on Ascension Day, May 4th.)
The Church and its New Members (especially on Pentecost Sunday.)
|
Please pray for:
Francis Cassidy (1985), Laurence White (1990), Richard Adams (1995), Frank Wawrzusisyn (2003), and for all those whose anniversaries occur at this time.
May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
P.S. What Father Bailey was trying to say:
" 'Why are you standing looking into the sky?' 'Go, make disciples of all the nations.' Once we have glimpsed the promise of heaven we must communicate it to all by the lives we lead in the power of the Spirit."
