Eucharistic Ministers

Eucharistic Ministers assist the Parish Priest in the distribution of the Blessed Sacrament. For more information please contact Fr. Ken.

Music Group and Choir

Our music group and choir sing regularly at the Sunday Mass. New members, both young and the not-so-young, are always welcome, regardless of experience, to come along and join. If you are interested please speak to one of the musicians after Mass.

Prayer Group

Prayer group meets from 10am to 10.30am every Friday morning and is followed by coffee and friendship from 10.30am to 11am. We pray for all the people of our parish and of the wider community. Time is also given for quiet personal reflection following a short meditation. For more information please contact Maureen on 01494 870396.

Welcoming

There will always be a warm greeting of welcome when you visit our church at the weekend Masses.

Society of St Vincent de Paul

The SVP helps those who have various needs within the parish and also supports the Depaul Trust for the homeless in Central London. Meetings are held every Thursday at 19.30 in the sacristy of our church and everyone is welcome to join. For more information please contact Christopher Cooke.

Teams of Our Lady

Teams of Our Lady consists of groups of married couples who meet monthly with a chaplain (Fr Ken, in the case of our local Team) in order to grow spiritually, to share, to pray and to deepen their knowledge of the Lord. If you would like to know more, please contact Fr Ken. Click here to visit the Teams of Our Lady website.

Helping Others

Apart from CAFOD, we support by an annual event and in smaller ways, MoPSA (the Missionaries of the Poor Supporters' Association). All the money collected for this charity goes to help the poor and destitute in Uganda, Kenya, India, Haiti, the Phillipines and Jamaica. Nothing is retained for administration, publicity, etc. As well as our Parish support for the SVP and MoPSA (see their separate pages on this site) we actively support the following: Sunday morning Coffee profits go towards the work of the Depaul Trust. Good quality clothing and household items for Luton’s New Opportunity and Horizons (NOAH) project St Joseph’s Gerrards Cross Furniture Store Shoebox Appeals for Eastern Europe via Great Missenden Rotary Club For more information please contact Steve.

Youth Group

The youth of the parish are more than welcome to contribute and participate to as many of the activities in Parish life as possible and on a regular basis. In addition, on the Saturday night before the third Sunday of the month, there is a Youth Mass and Social, particularly focused on those at Secondary School. Our objective is to encourage participation in the mass and to give the Youth a forum to meet and have fun with others of our shared faith.
Mass is at 6.00 pm and the Youth fulfil the lay roles of welcomers, readers, offertory collectors, alter servers and of course the youth choir and musicians. (Those wishing to be involved in the music group meet prior to Mass in the parish hall from 4.30pm). Afterwards the Youth meet in the Parish Hall for an informal social evening, where games are played and soft drinks, sweets and food can be purchased. The evening concludes at 8.30 pm. Older Youths can contribute to the events and are encouraged in living their faith. Enquiries please to John Ludlow 01494 729183

Parish Hall

The Parish Hall building in our church grounds is used by our parishioners to meet after Sunday Mass, to enjoy a monthly parish lunch or to celebrate big occasions such as Confirmation, First Holy Communion or St Aidan’s Feast. It is also possible to hire the hall for private functions (baptismal or birthday parties) or regular use (yoga or pilates classes). If you would like to hire the Parish Hall, please contact Pavla.

Coffee after Sunday Mass

Held in the Parish Hall, this is an excellent way of continuing the sign of peace at Mass, and of getting to know one another better over coffee and especially of welcoming newcomers to the parish. This year we have been awarded Fair Trade Certificate for using Fair Trade products (tea, coffee, sugar) during our Sunday Coffee mornings and for supporting the idea of Fair Trade. If you are interested in joining the coffee rota, which would only involve one Sunday in two months, please contact Marjorie Clarke.

Parents and Toddlers Group

The group meet on Tuesday mornings, 9.45 am to 11.45 am in the Parish Hall. This is run by a team of volunteers who are our parishioners and is open to all with pre-school aged children.

May Fayre

Next year's May Fayre will be on 4th May 2009.

With Christmas approaching, please make a note to keep any unwanted or unused NEW gifts, toys, books and bottles and bring them into the Church to be donated to next year's May Fayre. No Bric-a-Brac please. For more information please contact Deirdre Lay.

Parish Shop

Situated at the narthex of the church, our parish shop has religious items, books, pictures, calendars, cards and many other items at very competitive prices. Do find time to have a look when visiting our church.

Social and Cultural Group

The Social and Cultural Group organises the social events in the parish. Parishioners get a chance to meet socially at these events - thus enabling our community spirit to grow.
