Pets Mass:   Next Sunday's 10:30am Mass will be our annual Pets Mass, so don't forget to bring along your little furry friends - including cuddly toys.  Maurice and Milton have once again promised to come!

Harvest Bring And Buy:   Please being contributions of produce and home baking to church at all Masses one the weekend of 13th/14th October.  These should be placed on the table at the front of the church when you arrive.  You will be able to make a donation to CAFOD Connect 2 Bangladesh at the end of each Mass in exchange for an item.

Traidcraft Stall:   Fairtrade products will be available to buy at the Traidcraft stall this weekend.  Come and browse and buy Fairtrade goods so that producers get a fair price for their products.  We will have Christmas cards, calendars etc on offer this month (produced by Traidcraft and CAFOD).  For all Christmas bakers we will have raisins, sultanas and nuts on the stall.

Evergreens:   Evergreens meet on 9th October at 2:00pm in the Link Room.  Michael Grant will be giving a talk entitled "Creuising along the Grand Union", followed by refreshments.

Quiz Night:   This will be the next event organised by our Fund Raising Team, to be held on 20th October at The Scout Hall, Grovebury Road, from 7:30pm.  Tickets, at £5 per head, will be on sale from this weekend.  Make a team of six or just come and join one on the evening.  Table nibbles provided, BYO tipples and more substantial treats if you wish.  The quiz has become very popular on the local circuit so early booking recommended.

First Communion Parents Evening:   The parents of the children making their First Holy Communion next June (the children attending the Saturday morning classes) are asked to come to the Parents Evening on 18th October at 7:30pm in the church.  Please let Fr John know if you are unable to come.

New Altar Servers:   If you are interested in becoming an altar server, please speak to either Tony Falcon or Fr John.  Lessons will be starting shortly.

Bishop Peter: The Year Of Faith:   You are invited to hear Bishop Peter Doyle as he addresses the people and clergy of our Pastoral Area at the start of the Year of Faith.  He will be speaking at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Pope Close, Flitwick, MK45 1JP, on 16th October at 7:45pm.  Refreshments after the address.

Celebrating Vatican 2:   To celebrate the Year of Faith, the Northampton Diocese Religious Education Service, in conjunction with the Benedictine community at Turvey Abbey, have planned a series of lectures: "Celebrating Vatican 2" in 2012-2014.  These open lectures will be held at the RE Centre, Holy Ghost, 33 Westbourne Road, Luton LU4 8JD, at 7:30pm on Fridays.  The first two lectures are 12th octiber 2012: Mgr Andrew Foley: "A Great Grace a Sure Compass": A general introduction and background to Vatican 2.  30th November 2012: Canon John Redford: "A chosen race, royal nation, a holy people": Lumen Gentium - The Dogmatic Constitution of the Church.

Fund Raising Committee: 100 Club:   The Fund Raising Committee are launching a Lottery.  In return for a commitment of just £5 per month you can win CASH PRIZES.  You will be entered into a monthly draw and also a BIG PRIZE 6 monthly draw.  The scheme will raise regular income for our building improvement projects and give participants significant chances of winning.  The more members, the bigger the prizes.  It's called our 100 Club as our aim is initially to have one hundred members.  This initiative is open to all, so please tell friends and extended family.  We have taken the time and effort to be compliant with all regulatory bodies.  Notices will be issued next weekend with full details of the club and how to join.  This is an ideal way to give and (maybe) receive.
