CONFESSIONS
Saturday:
Collection: Last week’s plate collection came to £525.75. Thank you. Bishop's Maintenance Fund: There will be a second collection next weekend for the Bishop's Maintenance Fund. Parish Library: The Parish Library is open over this weekend. Please remember to return the books within a reasonable time. November Holy Souls: All the Masses through November will be offered for the Holy Souls, apart from a few Masses where people have particular anniversaries to commemorate. November envelopes are available at the entrance of the church. Please place a list of names of those you wish to be prayed for plus a donation in the envelope and place it in the basket, which will be placed on the altar from next weekend. Christmas Bazaar: Many thanks to all of you who have already brought items for the bazaar. For the next couple of weeks we are asking for bottles for the lucrative Bottle Tombola. Please remember to bring something for this stall as it always makes loads of money! The usual box is located under the papers. The Bazaar itself will be held on 5th December. There is a meeting for those who would like to be involved in the Bazaar on 28th October, at 7:30pm in the Presbytery. Christmas Bazaar Grand Draw: The tickets for the Grand Draw are now available as you leave church today. 1st prize is a mini hi-fi, 2nd prize a meal for two at Mama Rosa's, 3rd prize six bottles of wine, and 4th prize a £20 M&S voucher. Please post the stubs and money through Fr John's front door. Wedding Bells: Many congratulations to Steve Lowe and Louise Harry, who were married here this (Saturday) afternoon. The Livesimply Challenge 2009: Our second challenge is to eat simply in a spirit of gratitude. Say grace and express your gratitude for the food you have, and pray for those that have not: Life-giving Lord, Bless the food that we eat, And the hands that prepared it, And the land that grew it, As we long for your kingdom Where all shall be fed. Amen. Leighton's First Eco Fair: On 31st October, 10:00am to 2:00pm, at Trinity Methodist Church: Stalls, children's activities, energy saving advice, send a message to the Copenhagen Summit, refreshments, talent show, film shows and much more. Contact Nicky Wiseman (851038) for more details. Fr Lawrence Freeman OSB: Fr Lawrence will talk on Redescovering the Meaning and Power of Prayer at St Clare's Church, Elmhurst Road, Aylesbury. Fr Lawrence is a spiritual writer and the Director of the World Community for Christian Meditation. No need to book. Suggested donation £8. For more information call Jacqueline Russell on 01296 488450, or email jacq.russell@ntlworld.com. Traidcraft Stall: The Traidcraft Stall will be open next weekend and they also have a wonderful selection of Christmas cards and gifts. In these times when many producers in the developing world are facing food security issues and adverse climate effects, support for Fairtrade is more important than ever. Please do contact them with any orders that you wish to place for cards or other gifts from the catalogue, either by phoning Tessa on 851038, or by placing your order at the stall next weekend.
ANNIVERSARIES:
Please pray for those whose anniversaries occur at this time.
X Eternal rest give unto them O Lord. May they rest in peace.
