CONFESSIONS
Saturday:
Collection: Last week’s plate collection came to £627.00. Thank you.
First Communion Parents Evening: There will be a meeting for the parents of our First Communion candidates on 5th May, at 8:00pm, in the parish hall. At least one parent for each child needs to come. We will be discussing practicalities and the Mass. Youth Mass Readers: Richard Patterson is taking over from Monica MacDonald as the organiser of the readers for the Youth Mass, on the second Sunday of the month. If you would like to read at this Mass, please see Richard or Fr John, or phone him on LB 759268. APF Boxes: If you are one of those people who use the APF red boxes, could you please bring yours in for counting, sometime over the next few weeks. Many thanks. Parish Barbeque Meeting: There will be a meeting for those involved with the organising of the Parish Barbeque in the Presbytery on 30th April, at 8:00pm. The Barbeque takes place on 28th June. Tickets will be available soon. Day For Catechists: A Day for Catechists is being held at Our Lady of Lourdes, Coffee Hall, Milton Keynes, on 26th April, 10:30am to 3:00pm, led by Canon John Udris, with Mass at 12:00pm, celebrated by Bishop Peter. Bring a packed lunch, drinks provided. Russian Lady Needs Help: There is a Russian lady who needs lessons in speaking English. She can speak a little, but there is room for improvement! If you are retired, maybe a former teacher, you may be the person she needs - just one hour a week. She is a seamstress and will repay in kind. If you can help, please speak to Fr John. Pilgrimage To Walsingham: The annual Diocesan Pilgrimage to Walsingham takes place this year on 14th June. Back by popular demand we have booked a coach to leave Sacred Heart at 8:00am. The journey takes about 3 hours with a comfort stop. On arrival there is time for a stroll and a bite to eat (you can bring a picnic or there are plenty of eating places). After lunch we gather at the Anglican church for a short service conducted by the Bishop before the procession, about a mile, through the picturesque countryside to the National Shrine. Mass is celebrated at 4:00pm. The cost of the trip is £15. If you would like to come please enclose your name(s), phone number & money (cheques made payable to Sacred Heart Church) in an envelope marked "Walsingham" & pop through Fr John's door of place in the collection basket as it goes round. For more information please phone Anne Burke LB 370649 or Gillian O'Hara LB 379022. Passion For Life Campaign: As the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill continues its passage through Parliament, it is important that we continue to communicate our concerns to our MPs. To this end, postcards will be handed out as you leave church today which you can send to your local MP. It is important that we make our views known whatever the stance of our MP, so that they are made aware of the strength of feeling surrounding the issue. Deanery Pilgrimage To Rome: To mark the Year of St Paul, our Deanery is organising a short pilgrimage to Rome, from 2nd to 5th March 2009. There are places for up to 36 people, and the cost is £350. If you are interested, please see Fr John and he will give you an information leaflet (there are only a few). The Vatican: The Vatican is a magazine which contains various articles about the Vatican, price £3.50.
ANNIVERSARIES:
Please pray for those whose anniversaries occur at this time.
X Eternal rest give unto them O Lord. May they rest in peace.
