CONFESSIONS
Saturday:
Collection: Last week’s plate collection came to £537.77. Thank you. Bishop's Maintenance Fund: There is a second collection this weekend for the Bishop's Maintenance Fund. Contact Magazine: Copies of the Contact magazine are available at the back of the church. November Holy Souls: All the Masses through November will be offered for the Holy Souls, apart from a few Masses where people have particular anniversaries to commemorate. November envelopes are available at the entrance of the church. Please place a list of names of those you wish to be prayed for plus a donation in the envelope and place it in the basket, which will be placed on the altar from next weekend. Christmas Bazaar: Many thanks to all of you who have already brought items for the bazaar. For the next couple of weeks we are asking for CDs, DVDs and books (in good condition). The usual box is located under the papers. The Bazaar itself will be held on 5th December. Christmas Bazaar Grand Draw: The tickets for the Grand Draw are now available as you leave church today. 1st prize is a mini hi-fi, 2nd prize a meal for two at Mama Rosa's, 3rd prize six bottles of wine, and 4th prize a £20 M&S voucher. Please post the stubs and money through Fr John's front door. The Livesimply Challenge 2009: Our second challenge is to eat simply in a spirit of gratitude. Do you really need that "buy one get one free" offer? Keep a track on what's in the freezer. A third of the food we buy in the UK ends up being thrown away, so keeping your fridge, freezer and larder stocked with life-long basics means you always have the ingredients at hand to make the most of fresh food. There are recipes and practical ways to make the most of the food you'vebourgh at the Love Food Hate Waste website. Traidcraft Stall: The Traidcraft Stall is open this weekend and they also have a wonderful selection of Christmas cards and gifts. In these times when many producers in the developing world are facing food security issues and adverse climate effects, support for Fairtrade is more important than ever. Please do contact them with any orders that you wish to place for cards or other gifts from the catalogue, either by phoning Tessa on 851038, or by placing your order at the stall next weekend. Evergreens: Evergreens meet on 9th November at 2:00pm in the hall, when our guests will be the U3A Handbell Ringers. Raffle and refreshments also. Please bring money for the Christmas lunch. Luton Good Counsel Prayer Group: The next meeting will take place in church on 7th November, for Adoration, Rosary and Novena prayers. Their patron for November is St Maria Goretti. Please join them in the Novena at home or wherever you are. The 500 Crosses Walk, starting at 1:30pm at Westminster Cathedral, will take place this year on 14th November. This is an opportunity to pray for the victims and to witness against the 500 abortions that are carried out in the UK each day. Please go and support the many others who will be walking. Magazines: The latest editions of Catholic Life (£3.00) and St Martin Magazine (40p) are now available at the entrance of the church.
ANNIVERSARIES:
Please pray for those whose anniversaries occur at this time.
X Eternal rest give unto them O Lord. May they rest in peace.
