Collection:   Last week’s plate collection came to £474.32.            Thank you.

CAFOD Harvest Day Appeal:   Raised £1087.89 so far.  Many thanks.

Harvest Thanksgiving:   Hopefully some fruit and veg will be appearing at each of the Masses, to be displayed on the table at the altar.  We give thanks to God for a successful harvest and remember those who have not been as fortunate.  Donations received will go to CAFOD.

SVP Raffle:   Members of the SVP will be selling raffle tickets after Mass outside church.  It is a national raffle, so there is only a limited supply of tickets, so buy now!

Evergreens:   Evergreens meet on 12th October at 2:00pm in the Link Room (entry via the church).  Fr John will be showing some of his holiday slides.  Afterwards, in the hall for raffle and refreshments.

New Rotas:   The latest rotas for eucharistic ministers are now available in the Repository, as are the ones for the church beauticians.

Christmas Bazaar:   As with last year, we are going to start collecting things for the Christmas Bazaar early, using two weeks to appeal for the different items needed for the stalls.  For the next couple of weeks please bring along jigsaws, games, and items for the White Elephant stall.  The Bazaar itself will be held on 5th December.

Magazines:   The latest editions of Catholic Life (£3.00) and St Martin Magazine (40p) are now available at the back of the church.

The Livesimply Challenge 2009:   Water is life - We can preserve it!  Fill your sink when washing and rinsing dishes - don't leave the tap running (saves 8 to 15 gallons a day).  Run your washing machine only when full or adjust the water level setting carefully (saves 25-50 gallons a week).  Visit www.energysavingtrust.org.uk for more water saving tips.

Eco-Arts Project:   Wanted: young activist - Are you a young person concerned about the environment?  Have your say! Join the fun! Music/drama presentation on 31st October at the Methodist Church.  To find out more see Anne Reid after the 10:30am Mass on 11th October (she's the one who plays the cello at the folk Mass).

Eco Fun Day:   This will take place on 31st October, 10:00am to 2:00pm, at the Trinity Methodist Church.  There will be stalls, films (including Age of Stupid), energy saving advice, talent show, coffee tasting and children's games.

Fr Lawrence Freeman OSB:   Fr Lawrence will talk on Redescovering the Meaning and Power of Prayer at St Clare's Church, Elmhurst Road, Aylesbury.  Fr Lawrence is a spiritual writer and the Director of the World Community for Christian Meditation.  No need to book.  Suggested donation £8.  For more information call Jacqueline Russell on 01296 488450, or email jacq.russell@ntlworld.com.

Building Committee Meeting:   The committee will be meeting on 15th October, at 8:00pm in the Presbytery, for a progress report!

ANNIVERSARIES:    Please pray for those whose anniversaries occur at this time.

X Eternal rest give unto them O Lord. May they rest in peace.
