Thinking of becoming a Catholic? Want to find our more about the faith? You are welcome to our group which meets every Thursday during term time at 7.30pm in the Sacristy.

First Holy Communion
2011 PARISH FIRST COMMUNIONS
Are you thinking of presenting your child for First Holy Communion or for the first reception of the Sacrament of Reconciliation in 2011? If your child is 8 years old or over by August 31st 2010, you should download, print out and fill in the (PDF) application form and return it to the Presbytery by April 26 2010 at the latest. (Just post it or pop it in the letter box. No need to ring).
This will give us time to finalise the programme, order books and initiate CRB checks before the summer break. Applications after the cut off date cannot alas be considered for this coming year as this places unnecessary pressure on limited staff and volunteers.
N.B. The information here does not apply to current First Communion families for 2010.

Confirmation
PARISH CONFIRMATIONS
The Bishop will be coming to the parish on Tuesday May 25 at 7.30 p.m. to celebrate confirmation. Committed young people in Year 8 and above, who attend Mass here, live in the parish and wish to enrol in our programme of preparation should write to me asking to be prepared for the sacrament. They should include their phone number, address, date of birth and details of their baptism. (A rough date if you baptised at Our Lady of Peace, but a baptism certificate if you were baptised elsewhere).
There will be an initial meeting for parents and candidates on Monday March 22nd from 7 - 8 p.m. in Our Lady of Peace Church. The preparation sessions for the young people will be on Wednesday evenings from April 21st in the Junior School.

Can you help and support our young people as they prepare for confirmation in June? Please let me have your names as soon as possible.
Marriage
GETTING MARRIED?
If you are planning to get married, you should go and see your Parish Priest as early as possible, even if you are getting married in another church or country. Don’t leave it till the last moment!
Details of marriage courses are available from the Presbytery.
Vocations
Sacrament of Holy Orders
“INVOCATION 2010” is a forthcoming national discernment festival for young adults being held in the grounds of Oscott College from 2 to 4 July. The festival is being hosted by the Archdiocese of Birmingham with support and coordination from a number of organizations including the National Office for Vocations. This national festival is aimed at young men and women aged 16 to 35 who are looking to deepen their relationship with Christ, discern God’s will for their lives particularly in regard to the priesthood and the consecrated life. Sacrament of Reconciliation
Confessions are heard on Saturday afternoons from 5.15 - 5.45 p.m. at Our Lady of Peace.
