Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
The new course for anyone thinking of joining the Catholic Church has started, they meet on Thursday evenings from 7.30-8.45pm. This could be the right time as well to invite any non-Catholic friends to come along and find out more. And it is more than just a course: it is a way of getting to meet and know the Lord Jesus who is the living Heart of our Faith. First Holy Communion
FIRST HOLY COMMUNION CLASSES
The next session is on Saturday, 11th February from 10.00 – 11.30am at St Andrew’s Church, Cippenham. Please continue to pray for our children so that they will grow in their appreciation of the sacraments of Confession and Holy Communion. Please note the Parents Meeting that was scheduled to be held on 9th February at 7.30pm will now take place on Thursday, 23rd February at 7.30pm in Our Lady of Peace Church.
FIRST HOLY COMMUNION CLASSES
If you have registered your child/children to make their First Holy Communion in May 2012, there will be a meeting for the Parents on Thursday, 12th January at 7.30pm in Our Lady of Peace Church. The books we shall use with the children will be available at this meeting so please bring an envelope with your child’s name written on it containing the cost of the books, which you have been advised by letter/email. The children’s sessions will then commence on Saturday, 14th January from 10.00 – 11.30am at St Andrew’s Church, Cippenham.
Further information on the full programme will be explained at the meeting on 12th January, therefore please make every effort to attend. Please pray for our children so that they will grow in their appreciation of the sacraments of Confession and Holy Communion.
Confirmation
CONFIRMATION REHEARSAL
- on Wednesday, 15th June at 7.00pm in St Andrew’s Our Lady of Peace church. This is an opportunity for a proper, Confirmation rehearsal and confessions, in preparation for the actual Mass of Confirmation which will be celebrated by Bishop Peter on Wednesday, 22nd June at 7.30pm in Our Lady of Peace.
THE SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION
- will be conferred by Bishop Peter this year on Wednesday 22nd June at 7.30 pm. If any young person from Year 8 onwards would like to receive Confirmation this year, then please will they themselves write to me (Fr David Barrett) as soon as possible to request to receive this sacrament and to join the course. All applications need to be in by Friday, 9th April 2011 please. The course will begin after Easter this year and will be held on Wednesday evenings.
Marriage
GETTING MARRIED?
If you are planning to get married, you should go and see your Parish Priest as early as possible, even if you are getting married in another church or country. Don’t leave it till the last moment!

Vocations
VOCATIONS WEEKEND
- was held at the Parish of St Martin de Porres, Luton, on 8th-9th April 2011. The Vocations weekend is for men aged 18 or over who are asking themselves whether God might be calling them to serve in His Church as Priests. Sacrament of Reconciliation
Confessions are heard on Saturday afternoons from 5.15 - 5.45 p.m. at Our Lady of Peace.
