St. Clare's Music Director, Lloyd Thompkins is always looking for new Choir Members.
EVERYBODY KNOWS THAT!
But do you know that our Church also needs
Cantors and Instrumentalists?
A Cantor leads the singing from the front of the church. It's the cantor's job to animate the congregation's participation in the assembly.
Instrumentalists play along with the hymns and responses to create a greater texture in the music than the organ can provide by itself.
OK! So how good do you have to be?
You have to be good enough to want to get better! That is, by the actual participation in the Mass, you will find your talent developing. You don't have to be Caruso to be a good Cantor, and you don't have to be a virtuoso to be a good church Instrumentalist. The Music Director is eager to work with you to develop your talent and your confidence.
We want you!
Did you sing in your School Chorus?
Were you in the band or orchestra?
Come and let us revive your dormant talent!
We need singers, guitarists, violinist, wind players, keyboard players, brass players, WHATEVER! What about your old mandolino? Any instrument can help.
Talk to us and we'll get you involved in Music at St. Clare's.
Send us your e-mail or call the church office at (718) 863-8974 and leave your name.
We'll be in touch!
