Basketball
The Corpus Christi basketball program is open to both boys and girls enrolled in Corpus Christi
School or the parish Religious Education program. The Basketball Program focuses on sportsmanship;
learning to work together as a team; and, most important, having FUN.
The Intramural Basketball Program is open to all boys and girls in grades 1 through 8
who sign up. Teams are organized by grade level in both the Boys' Intramural Program and the
Girls' Intramural Program. Registration for the Intramural Programs is held in early December.
To qualify for participation on the Traveling Teams, boys and girls in grades 5 through 8
must attend tryouts and be selected on the basis of skill, knowledge of the game, good sportsmanship,
and ability to be a team player. There is both a Boys' Traveling Program and a Girls' Traveling
Program. Traveling Teams compete in the Bergen County CYO League and the South Bergen Basketball
League. A Christmas Tournament is held over the holiday season, and at the end of the season
there is a Communion Breakfast and Awards Program. Tryouts for the Traveling Teams are held in
the fall.
Announcements for both programs are distributed through the parish school and parish religious
education classes, as well as in the parish bulletin.
