What if all ages and generations could be brought together as a whole parish community through learning and participation in church life. Bringing the generations together and overcoming generational isolation? What if children, teens, young adults, families, single men and women or grandparents could all find ways to be more meaningfully engaged in their faith and active in the life and events of the parish community? What if you could be provided with ways to nurture your faith and that of your family? And what if this could be done without having to make hours of additional time or adding things to your already hectic life? All of this is possible through a process called Generations of Faith.
St. John's Parish Family seeks to inform, form, and transform all ages, individuals, families, and the entire community in the Catholic faith by gently nurturing people’s minds and hearts in the wisdom of the Catholic faith.
Because of this desire, we are adopting the Generations of Faith model for our parish
Generations of Faith encourages healthy, faithful relationships. Generations takes a people-friendly approach that always keeps you in focus and explores ways to support individuals as well as your family members. How? Through a process that unites
people of all ages and generations in our Catholic faith. Our programs and activities encourage communication, understanding, and cooperation between parishioners as individuals or as family members. The everyday strategies that happen both inside and outside of the church are used to enhance your experience. Successful relationships and events should be expressed in the home and in the community, as well as in the church. Real-life strategies, along with helpful reflections and meaningful rituals, that can evoke the feelings, thoughts, and memories, that help us find a loving and merciful God within the folds and creases of everyday life.
Generations of Faith is information for the entire parish. The entire family will participate in GOF. One or both parents must attend with children. We will meet on Sunday nights at 5:00 pm. The Sacraments of First Communion and First Reconciliation will continue to be a separate preparation process. Participation in Generations of Faith will be required for the reception of First Sacraments. Generations of Faith Dates 4:45 pm Meal (No Cooking for you) January 6th
