Monument of Our Lady

The monument of Our Lady is situated at the main entrance of Marian Centre. It dominates the whole area while approaching this Holy Ground. It is also serving as a gathering place with an  arena for worshipping. The main altar is situated in front of the monument and it's used as a place of homage.

Work on this monument commenced on the 19th march 1994 and over 9000 bricks were laid. This 14 metre monument took three months to complete and was designed by architect, David Calleja. On the 6th June 1994, the statue of Our Lady was placed on top of this imposing monument.

The committee of Our Lady of Ta Pinu invited His Lordship Nicholas Joseph Cauchi, Bishop of the island of Gozo, Malta, to Marian Centre for the official blessing. Bishop Cauchi accepted the invitation and on Saturday 4th November 1995, Bishop Nicholas Cauchi blessed the monument during a concelebrated Mass with other parish priests. After the concelebrated Mass, Bishop Nicholas Cauchi planted a tree to commemorate his visit to Ta Pinu Marian Centre.

Following this event, everybody was invited for a cup of coffee under the huge marquee erected for this occasion.
