ANGELS DIVINE POWERS

Angels, truth of faith . . .

Angels are a Truth of faith.
The Holy Scriptures and the Catholic Tradition attest it.

Angels have three main characteristics:

they are messengers of God
intermediaries between God and man
and testifiers of God’s glory

In the Bible there appear Angels with different denominations able to accomplish diverse missions:

the Angels as pure Spirits, ready to help
man
the Archangels, ready to defend him
the Cherubs, as a Guard of Honour
the Seraphs, as communicators of God’s
Love

Angels are communicating channels with all men with different degrees of God’s Powers and of His Will. From what I could understood in my particular devotion towards the Angelic Ranks, I have realized that the Thrones are those Ranks closer to the Lord, as dispensers of His gifts to the other Ranks.

In the books of Saints we find different definitions according to their various interpretations and relation with the deepness of these Beings, assistants of man.

In relation to the Dominations, I was given to understand that Angels wake man when he is tired of the hard tests of this life, and make him feel closer the presence of God.

The Powers receive from God the power of guiding the other Ranks and giving man strength and courage.

The Virtues, I feel they are those Groups that help you to improve your spiritual life, sustain you when you are falling down in a fault, whereas the Skies reveals to you to the last details, the Lord’s Face, making you fall in love with Him even to the total oblation of yourself.

These Angelic Groups have also group tasks:

those who assist particularly on the
roads
some on the mountains
others on the riverside
some in the silence of the night
others among the noises of the day
some in dangerous places
others during prayer
some during the struggle between good
and evil
others at work
others in hospitals, in prisons, etc…

Therefore, the best way to pray to them is as follows: "I am sick, Hospital Angels, assist me!; I am poor, Poor Angels help me!"; etc…

Then, even better: "Power of all Angelic Ranks come to give me a hand; Guardian Angel do not forget me."

The mission of the Angelic Groups here reported, depicts my poor interpretations. God does not reveal Himself to everyone in the same way, and with the same sources of light.

The devotion to the Guardian Angel ought not to be forgotten, for it will be he who, after being helped by the other Angelic Groups, will bring into God’s hands the man who was assigned to Him, and whom he has many times worked hard for.

I could report many episodes of my life in which I was visited by the Angels who, with their Powers, resolved both my difficult and simple affairs.

Many times, indeed, it happened that I was being helped by them, for example when I wasn’t able to make the bed because of my precarious health and blindness, or when I run the risk of loosing the Mass.

In front of clear and evident events like that, we can only cry: "Oh, Mighty Power of God, that night and day you are manifest to man through thy Angels, be blessed. Only Lucifer disobeyed you for pride and envy of Your Power». This Angel of the darkness must not be heard for its mission is not that of bringing man to salvation, but to perdition."

Angels God’s Messengers

The devotion of the Angels, pure spirits created by God to help man, is important during our life.

He who prays to them experiences the effects of it. To talk with Angels is as to talk with friends. In their silence they listen to you, interpret if what you’re asking for is good for you. They all together decide how to intervene, how to help you, to comfort you in troubles, to enlighten you in doubts, to preserve you from all evils, to stop your enemies, to illumine your doctor, to cure your illnesses.

Angels do exist, and few people go searching for them, invoking them. Angels are divided into Ranks, and work for our sake.

We must never lose our way, in whichever difficulty we might be, because there are many invisible Assistants, who follow us night and day, in addition to the Guardian Angel, the personal One who was assigned by God directly to each of us. Sometimes you feel alone and despair, but remember in your house there are those who live beside you: they are the Angels, these marvelous creatures, messengers of light, joy, good will, strength, enthusiasm, faith.

If you do not perceive sensibly the answer to your prayer; if you do not see their face, be certain that Angels are not made of flesh like man, but they are Powers that instill into your heart, into your mind and will, whatever you need to be stronger, happier, to have trust, to believe and to observe God’s Law, which is nothing but the safe path for an eternally happy future.

Angel’s Heaven is on earth, in whichever difficulty we could undergo, because it is on earth that each of them achieves the work given by God. Each of us is used to acting in a material way; it is consequently easy to ignore the spiritual one around us.

Saints are Angel’s friends. They make use of them to be helped in whatever difficult case and, above all, in the service of souls. Angels adapt themselves to the more humble tasks, just to be servers in God’s hands, Endless Humbleness.

From the Book of Wisdom (16, 20):"You fed Your people with an Angel food." Thus, Wisdom comes to reveal to us that Angels feed the hungry man, that is, needful of knowing. They feed him with the gifts God has given each of the Angels to sustain man in this worldly exile.

From the New Testament (Mt 22, 30):"In the Resurrection, they neither marry, nor given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in Heaven."

The body is, therefore, subjected to the spirit, and is used only to lift it up to an upper grade in union with God. So, why then, so many anxieties, to arrive at the satisfaction of flesh, if even the union of Marriage is of use only to elevate the spirit on this earth, by the merits of a paternity and a maternity towards new creatures offered to God? "Be fruitful, and multiply" (Gen 1,28).

Man and woman live together, but the last aim of their union is always that of procreation. Their love, though physical, if it is pure, can serve, in order that each of them recognizes himself unworthy in front of the Lord, and needful of His Love.

Let us try, therefore, to convince ourselves, according to what Jesus said, that after the Resurrection there will be no longer blood links, "but they’ll be as the Angels of God in Heaven" (cfr. Mt 22,30). Then the strict friendship on earth with Angels will become stronger, for, after death, man will receive the salary for the merits earned in this exile, and in the Eternal Paradise he will enjoy being with the his friends, Angels, near God our Father.

It is important, therefore, to start a profound devotion towards Angels, and much better, towards each of the Angels Groups, for each of them received by God a specific mission. Since man on earth is a weak creature needful of everything, through these intelligent spirits, senders of the Divine Powers, he can walk with better equilibrium, without anxiety and fears.

Poems about Angels

So when I dream of lovely things
And feel the peacefulness they bring,
I know that angels blessed my sleep
And brought me memories to keep.
Betty Lou Herbert

Guardian Angel, you are with me
Every hour of the day,
Sweet companion, guide my footsteps
Down the straight and narrow way.
I can sense that you are near.
Keep me safe from every danger
In my time allotted here.

Grace E. Easley

Angels

We each have a Guardian Angel,
Blessed by the peace she brings
And although we cannot see her,
We feel the brush of wings.

No heavenly clash of thunder
Nor vision of golden throne,
Just the faithful certitude
That we are not alone.

She brings us light in darkness,
Gives calm in times of fear;
Hope lives in knowing
That she is always near.

Compassion for our tears,
Comfort with each nod;
Her mission is no twist of fate -
She is a gift from God.

C. David Hay

Do not neglect hospitality,
for through it some
have unknowingly
entertained Angels.

Hebrews 13:2

Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel

St. Michael, the archangel
Defend us in battle
Be our safeguard against
The wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray.
And do Thou, O prince of the Heavenly Host
By the power of God, thrust into Hell Satan
and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Guardian Angel Prayer

Angel of God, my guardian dear,
to whom God's love commits me here.
Ever this day be at my side,
To enlight and guard, to rule and guide. Amen

Novena in Honor of the Nine Choirs of Angels

*This Novena has proven to be highly effective in times of stress or emergency.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen

Repeat the Glory be nine times in honor of the Nine Choirs of angels, nine times during the day.

*This novena has been made into a chaplet consisting of 81 beads divided by nine and attached with a medal of Saint Michael.

(Suggestion: Purchase some beads and put nine of them on a small piece of strong cord and tie the ends or just make 9 knots on a piece of yarn or heavy string, then you will be able to carry it in your pocket during the day and complete the novena. No need to try and keep track of how many Glory be...you have completed)
