Burial Service In The Archdiocese Of Kuching

Guidelines:
  1. General Information
    1. When a death occurs, inform your Parish Priest or Parish Office to arrange for a date and time for Requiem Mass and burial.
    2. Inform the Catholic Cemetery Committee:
      1. for allocation of a burial plot if no prior booking has been made
      2. to prepare the plot for burial on the appointed date and time
    3. Contact the Catholic Mutual Benefit Society for services such as purchase of casket, transport and pallbearers. However, the bereaved family can make your own private arrangements.
    4. If the use of the funeral parlour is needed, booking can be made at the Parish Office of St Joseph's Cathedral (Telephone: 082-423424).

    1. Only contractors registered with the Catholic Cemetery Committee are authorized to erect memorial monuments in the Catholic Cemetery.

  4. Cost
    The bereaved family can enquire from the office/person in charge for details pertaining to costs for the various burial services and the burial plot.
