ACMU 1

CCA-FABC jointly organised the first Asian Movement of Christian Unity (ACMU 1). It was held on 12-16 March 1996 at Cheung Chau, Hong Kong. Taking part were 42 participants from 15 Asian countries and official delegates from the World Council of Churches and the Vatican's Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity. The consultation studied "The Theology of Ecumenism," "The Vision of Christian Unity," and "Building on What Unites, Overcoming What Divides" according to their respective understanding of each. From Malaysia, Brother Edmund Chia and Dr. Hermen Shastri took part.
