Michael LOLIVIER
1808-1833
Came to Penang in December 1807 with 5 Chinese seminarians and revived
the College. Died in Penang.
 
Francois ALBRAND
1833-1839
A professor in College until 1833 when he became the rector. In 1839, he
was recalled to Paris where he later became the superior of the MEP
seminary there.
 
Claude TISSERAND
1839-1848
Became rector and later a missionary in the Malacca diocese.
 
Auguste THIVET
1848-1849
Was rector from June 1848-June 1849.  He fell into a tiger trap and died.
 
Victor  MARTIN
1849-1868
Came to College in 1842.  Died in Penang.
 
 
Joseph LAIGRE
1868-1885
Was rector from 1868 until his death in Penang.
 
 
Edouard WALLAYS
1885-1917
A missionary from Shanghai, China. He was responsible for building the
main edifice  with its long row of arches. Came to College in 1866 and
died in Penang in 1925.
 
 
Justin PAGES
1917-1931
Became a professor in College in 1890.  Died in 1944 in Singapore.
 
 
Marcel ROUHAN
1931-1951
Became a professor  in College & then later as the rector.  After his
term he became a missionary in the Malacca  diocese, but ill health
forced him to return to France.
 
 
Rene Jean DAVIAS
1951-1960
From 1926-1931 he was a professor in College but was later recalled for
duties in France.  In 1950 he  returned to College and was the rector the
following year.  In 1960 he went to South Vietnam.
 
Francois M. LEDU
1960-1966
He was a missionary in China from 1946-1952. He   then came to Penang as
a College professor and later rector.  In January 1966, he was recalled
to France for a new posting.
 
 
Jean-Marie BOSC
1966-1971
Arrived in College on the 1.11.1956 as a professor and later as rector.
In July 1971, he left for France for medical treatment.
 
 
 
Achilles CHOONG
1971-1975
First local Rector of College General.  In 1975, Fr. Choong took leave.
 
 
 
Anthony S. FERNANDEZ
1975-1977
He was first appointed as acting rector and in 1976 was appointed as the
rector. He left in 1977 to be Bishop of Penang and later became the
Archbishop of Kuala Lumpur.
 
 
Murphy PAKIAM
1978-1988
He was the professor of Special Moral in College until he was appointed
as rector in 1978. He served for two terms as rector before leaving to be
the parish priest of the Church of Nativity, Butterworth.
In 1995, he was appointed Auxillary Bishop of Kuala Lumpur.
 
James GNANAPIRAGASAM
1988-1994
He was the first local priest to serve the College for three terms. He
taught Scripture and Homilitics. At present he is the parish priest in
Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Mentakab.
 
Francis ANTHONY
1994-
Our present rector who is also our Scripture Professor.
