October 22 – October 24, Regional Encounter Weekend. Central Indiana Cursillo is hosting a Regional Encounter Weekend at the Benedict Inn Retreat and Conference Center in Beech Grove (Indianapolis), Indiana. Encounter talks will be based on the book by Fr. David Knight titled “Reaching Jesus, 5 Steps to a Fuller Life”. The weekend is focused at those individuals who have previously made a Cursillo and would like to renew their commitment to Christ! Vespers or Compline is sung every Sunday, in Gregorian Chant, after the 4:00 Mass. Generally it begins around 5:15 PM. Mass in the Extraordinary Form is offered every morning at 7:00 a.m. and on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. Lexington Latin Mass, St. Peter, Lexington.

Vespers are prayed every Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., Cry Room, Christ the King Cathedral, Lexington.

Journey of Hope, a Catholic Divorce Recovery Ministry. Journey of Hope is a 15-week program addressing concerns of divorced or separated Catholics. It offers support and addresses important issues that arise as a result of a divorce or separation. There is a strong emphasis on prayer, scripture, and Catholic Church teachings which leads to healing and a better relationship with Christ. Help Wanted

The Saint Vincent de Paul Society needs your help. Someone is needed to answer our phone at Christ the King one Tuesday a month from 10 to 12 to take calls from people requesting food vouchers. Also, help is needed to assist at our small grocery store in the Connie Griffith center on Second Street. This would normally involve one Wednesday afternoon every 8 weeks. Birthright of Lexington is an emergency pregnancy shelter. They are in need of maternity clothes. Call Birthright of Lexington's office 859.277.2635

Damas del Buen Pastor need sewing and craft items for the group of refugee women who are learning to sew. If you can donate a few yards of fabric, some spools of thread, needles, laces, etc., please call Linnette at 859-254-5507, or drop them off at Providence House on the grounds of the Catholic Center, 1310 West Main Street, Lexington.

God’s Pantry needs donations of non-perishable food items such as canned meats, soups and fruits, dried beans and pasta, flour, sugar, peanut butter for those in need. Donations can be made at our warehouse during normal operating hours. In Lexington: 1685 Jaggie Fox Way. In Prestonsburg: 74 Resource Court. In addition, residents of Fayette County can make their donation at any Kroger location by placing the food in our donation barrel near the customer service desk or exit. Many parishes also have donation barrels. If you cannot find the barrel, please ask at the customer service desk.

Catholic Action Center. "Helping hands and caring hearts are always welcome in preparing and serving meals, sorting donations, and being part of the ministry of presence to the marginalized and homeless of our community. If you would like to get involved in any way, let us know. All funding is through donations; all food and supplies are donated. Habitat For Humanity. Habitat needs volunteers to complete their new house on 200 Maple Leaf Drive, Nicholasville. They meet on Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. for coffee, prayer, and a short devotion. No experience is necessary. You must be at least 18 years old to work on the job site or 16 if accompanied by your parent/guardian. Call 859-881-1906 for additional details.
