I am writing this to request prayers for my youngest sister, Alice Dougherty, from Dougherty, Iowa. Yesterday she had a standard surgical procedure performed to put a band around the intestine in order to help lose weight. Everything went well. She was in recovery and had a heart attack. She was air-lifted by helicopter to a hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota. During the flight she went into cardiac arrest several times. They immediately took her to surgery to unclog a stint that was put in earlier this year. She is in shock and critical condition and also is in a drug induced coma to get her stabilized. The doctors say that she is young (53), strong (lives on a farm), and all of her other vital signs are stable. As soon as I hear about her prognosis today, I will be making a decision on flying to Minneapolis to join up with my sisters and brothers in prayer and support for her, her husband Phillip, her daughter Amanda, Amanda’s new husband Jason, and granddaughter, Tiana. Amanda and Jason were married last Saturday. I will keep you all up to date on her progress and ask that you all continue to pray. God's Blessings be with all of you! – Bob Shannon, 10 September 2009
I have had the second 3 month lab work and the results are the same as the original tests. PRAISE THE LORD !!!! I'll need to be tested every 3 months for the first year if everything goes well. It is a wait and see game to check when the cancer progresses. Thanks to all for the prayers. I know these prayers help. Please continue to pray the cancer does not progress in the near future or even distant future. – Maryannws, 24 August 2009
Please hold Leslie C. in your prayers. She is losing her hair due to the medications she is taking. Also a friend is traveling to Paris, France and he asked for safety during flight and a safe return for all on board. Father Richard Edelen asked to continue to hold him in your prayers. He seems stronger and is very grateful for everyone's prayers. . – Mary Dries, 18 August 2009
Prayers Needed in Somerset.....St. Mildred Community!!! My miracle list is increasing and my own prayers can't possibly do all this work alone. So I am asking for prayers for little 5 year old Jenna who is in Children's Hospital in Cincinnati with a serious infection that has shut down her kidneys...she has been there for three weeks. As her father explains she is like a cocoon waiting to turn into a butterfly. She wiggles a little one day and then is still and the forward progress goes one step forward and then two back at times. They are hoping that her kidneys will begin working again soon. She is off the ventilators and some IV's but still is very sick. Pray pray pray!!!! Miracle Needed~!! My daughter just called and a friend of hers, John Spears, is on a trip to Colorado for a training class he needed for the Prison in McCreary County. While there he got sick and is now in the hospital in Colorado diagnosed with the SWINE FLU he is in intensive care and they haven't given the family much hope for his recovery - so please, please, please, pray for him and the family he is in his 30's with a wife and a 1 year old son!!!! Miracle needed. Both of my daughters are trying to sell their home to move to new communities. Please pray for their success, and easy transitions for both. Keep their families in your prayers that they can with stand the separation until they can be rejoined together in their new locations. Hope you are all doing well ......God Bless............ – Mona Tyler, 21 July 2009
On July 22 Ronnie Camargo is having surgery in Danville at Epraim McDowell Hospital. The Doctors found a cancer in her right breast and they are doing a lumpectomy/sentinel node biopsy. After her 6 weeks post op, she is going to face a course of radiation over a few weeks. She will be going home the same day of surgery and is very optomistic. Today she is getting her anointing at mass, by Father Tom Farrell. She is 80 years old and has trust God is with her. At the same time her daughter, Jeanne Dodak, has had successful surgery for uterine cancer, but the pathologist found a small malignancy on one ovary. So on July 23 I meet with the surgeon, Dr. Desimone, at the University of Kentucky, who recommends three month course of chemo as a preventative measure. So, if you see me, I will be losing my hair with the chemo, but the blessing was that the ovarian cancer was found. God works in mysterious ways. My small group knows of the situation and I will keep in touch with them. Thanks for all the prayers. – Jeanne Dodak, 21 July 2009

They have taken my granddaughter off a plane in Boston and sent her to Mass. General Hospital because of severe pain in the head while on a flight from Bangor Maine to Boston. She blacked out at camp Thursday and again Friday and fell on concrete so we do not know what the cause is. They are checking her out as I am writing for prayers. She is thirteen years old and was traveling by herself but her Mother is now with her. Will let you know when we get information. Thanks, Sandy Convery" – Carolyn Taylor, 14 July 2009
