Successful SSVP charity food fair

KUCHING - The Charity Food Fair organised by the Society of St Vincent de Paul (SSVP) at the Civic Centre on 29 June was a great success.

Judging from the large crowd that patronised the food fair, the Society was assured that its works of reaching out to the poor and needy have much support from the general public, in particular the Christian community.

This was the first time the Society had organised a fund raising project of such scale - gathering the various lay organisations and voluntary groups to actively participate by setting up 57 stalls. The SSVP wishes to thank everyone for their effort and contributions.

Through this event, the SSVP also hopes that more people will be aware of its existence and be willing to come forward to assist the Society either in person or by contributions in cash or in kind.
