Christ is Risen! |
At the dawn of Easter morn ; a day bright and gay
All creatures were sleeping and the world was still dark .
Mary Magdalen came to the tomb early that day .
She must be there early ; as early as a lark .
To her surprise, she saw the tomb stone; it was rolled away .
She'd looked inside . Alas ! it was an empty tomb!
She ran through thick and thin to spread the news , to say ;
Happenings so strange ; like the coming of eternal doom.
Breathless , cried the maid ," Oh ! They had taken Him away ;
Away from the tomb ! Don't know where to ; let me recall ..
You all must come to look for Him, and do it to-day
To see where he has gone if he has gone at all ! "
Peter and the others ; all surprised by the news
They all ran towards the tomb and what did they see ?
All Jesus wrappings were there in perfect order
None missing ; except the body of the Master !
All the faithful gathered saw this strange happenings !
They all believed . Blessed are you and I who believe
Although we have never seen such real happenings ;
As we understand what Holy Scriptures had announced .
For Christ's risen ! Resurrection of one by His own power!
Resurrection of the Man-God ! Such a wonder !
Now the heart of man fills with hope and gratitude!
The Lord's risen! He saves us from sins and destitute !
