Life's Walk |
God do I have to walk along this path
to get to heaven where you are ?
Can't I take an easier path ?
full of joy and fun ?
The sun's setting , the birds flying homeward
Can't I just linger another moment
to savour the sun while it lasts ?
God , do I have to walk along this path
It's full of thorns and snares ?
Can't there be another way
an easier one , I pray ?
God , you are like a shinning star
Sitting above the sky , so far
If I have wings , I but fly
To heaven where you are !
God I am walking along this path
The path is not that difficult
I am doing all that's right
and I am learning fast
I know
To come to you I must finish my journey
Life on earth ; its trials and tribulations
The snares , the pitfalls and life's illusions
It is our destiny , to endure the test.
And put our trust in You , the rest .
The hindrance of my life are not yet out.
But Lord, I am up and about !
God , please keep a place for me in heaven
When that time comes for me to go home!
