Rosary Devotion
|
The month of October is coming to a close. It is also the month of Rosary. In this month of October the church members of our Church, St. Peter's Church, Kudat, made it a door-to-door saying Rosary Month as is customary. Last two years saw us stop this very meaningful devotion. With a bit of change, we resume the activity this year. The usual two large groups of Chinese and BM are subdivided into more smaller groups which are allocated certain areas and this caters for those whom time can be a problem in this busy world when other more attractive activities seem to be the fashion.
Saying Rosary, a repetitions of Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory be to God can be such a happy experience to any Catholic. It is almost like a small retreat, a retreat of our souls to a quiet place, to browse over our love for our Lady, for God and for mankind at large. It is a soothing feeling in our journeys of life through the day. We rest for a while in the comforting arms of Our Mother Mary. We reflect, while saying the rosary
The joy of being a Christian, a Catholic, because we have someone who loves us very much, God, who is like a Father to us, who even sent his only begotten son to save us. And we have a loving Mother, whom we can easily approach, to ask for help in time of need and distress. It is like talking to Her for she is like a mother to us.
Going from door to door to say Rosary increase our relationship with the other members of the church. There is a give and take relationship and it is beautiful. Anything to do with church activities are beautiful and satisfactory, a balm to hurt mind and a solace to the soul. We can also gain Grace through prayers. Needless to say our faith will thus be increased if we are always in the company of Our Lady.
Never underestimate the powers of prayers, especially the Rosary. Sometimes even lip service is better than no service at all.
