Once more the organ played new year songs on the first day of
of Chinese New Year on 12th Feb.2002, here in St. Peter's Church,
Kudat. The pews were soon filled up. Every one sang the new year songs
with a hearty spirit for this special occasion which is held once a year.
It is good to see families togetherness on this day as sons and
daughters working in other places come home for family
reunion for CNY.
The atmosphere during Mass was peaceful and devotional.
Father Tobias Chi delivered a thoughtful and practical
teaching for all.
The special additional for this Mass was the "ang pau" distribution
for every child under 12 years of age and long offertory
procession in which the faithful brought presents for the church.
There was also mandarin oranges for every one present at the
end of the Mass as every one wished each other, "Happy New Year".
Finally, everyone went outside the church to see a dragon dance...
