Sacred Heart Charity Outreach Services
St. Peter's Church

Why is it called Sacred Heart Charity Outreach? Sacred Hearts is Christ's heart, which stands for His loves for everyone, for the world. Christ is born for us to love us.

Aim :  To bring love to all people from all walks of life especially the poor, regardless of race, religion, skin colours.

Spirit :  It imitates the spirit of Christ, His selflessness and sacrifice and love for mankind. It is not with pity and compassion that the members serve but with love.

Service :  When Jesus washed the apostles' feet, He asked them to wash each other's feet. He wanted them to serve others and each other for the greatest should serve all the others.

a.   We serve humbly as we see in the poor, Our Lord; so serving the poor is like serving Our Lord.

b.   When we were baptized, we received the job of a king. This job is to serve others that need our services.

c.   Jesus set a good example as Son of God He became man to serve us.

The Sacred Heart Charity Outreach, Kudat was started in 1999.

The members hold weekly meetings on Wednesday at 8pm to 10 pm.
In the meeting after the opening prayers, there is Bible sharing and discussions. After that, the members report their activities which they carry out that week. It is in the meeting that they decide who to visit for the following week; usually the old, the lonely and the sick.

Once a month the different groups of members distribute foodstuff to the needy. The source of fund is from donation of members and well to do donors.
