Kindness
*
Refuse no kindness to
those who have a right to it ,if it is in your
power to
perform it. Proverbs: 3:27

First of all , let us define
what is the meaning to be kind ...According to the
Oxford
dictionary , it means to be
friendly and thoughtful to others .and kindness is
the
quality to be kind or to be
kind-hearted. We must be kind to others if it is
within
our means to do so .
*
May be you all think it is
easy to be kind and you are kindness itself . No one
thinks
very badly of themselves only
of others. There is actually no standard for
kindness .
Actually sometimes it is not
so easy to be kind when we have human feelings of
jealousy , prejudice or
bias , pride , suspicion and so on . We want to
be kind and we
know we must be kind to
others for we hear and read so many teachings on
kindness ,
.but to implement it , is
another story .Sometimes we are too busy to be kind
. We brush
aside other people's
request for help on the ground that we cannot handle
the situation ,
we are no
expert on that matter. We unconsciously are
being unkind to others .

However sometimes it is better
to be unkind to a person and get the right
result than
being kind Take
for instance to a crying child who asks
continiously for sweets . We all
know that it is no good
to give the child too many
sweets but the child does not understand .
In the child's mind
the adult is being unkind .
There is a nurse that I know who keeps saying
that you have
to be cruel to be kind when
dealing with small kids ; injections have to be done
, medicine
have to be taken however
unpleasant it is to those small children under her
care . There
is also an old proverb
which says , " Spare the rod , spoil the child
.
in this case .

But that is only giving
what is best for those children for their good .

In most cases , we had better
be kind for Jesus is kindness itself . He
cured the sick ,
the lepers the woman
with heamarage who had faith enough to touch his
cloth , he changed water to
wine at the request of His
lady mother , his first miracles. so that the
master of the wedding
would not be embarrassed
as they had no wine for the wedding guests .
Above all Jesus is
is kind to children . So
we have to follow Jesus 's example , and be
kind. God , too spared
Abrahim's first born and
in his stead used a lamb as offering of sacrifice .

The above quote from
Proverbs stressed on being kind to others .

Nowadays , the world knows
that we need kind people with a generous heart to
help those
who need help . There are so
many organizations that are formed to help people .
Take an
example the Orphanage , the
Old Folks Homes , the organizations to help the
disable
the blind and the deaf , those
with mental illness . There is also a group of
people called , the soul
growth group to help the well-being
of lots of people .

The world is a better place if
we have happy people around us .So it is good for us
to be
reminded to be kind by all the
readings we read and also by the love in our hearts
.

Let's pray to the Holy Spirit
to fill our hearts with the kindness of human nature
and help others.
