Saint Paul School - Scholarship/Financial Assistance Grants
These scholarships are made available through interest accumulated during the year from the various donations made to Saint Paul School,, in memory of alumni or parishioners. The 1999-2000 amount will be approximate $1100.00. Individual awards range from $100-00 to $250.00. The criteria: Awarded to students based on financial need, who demonstrate scholastic effort and loyalty to the school or parish. A completed application and W-2 Form must be submitted. Frank Downes Scholarship - This scholarship is made available through interest accumulated in the Frank Downes Scholarship Fund. The 1999-2000 amount will be between $150.00 and $250.00. The criteria: Awarded to a student in grades 6, 7, or 8 at Saint Paul School based on scholastic excellence, character and promise. The recipient is selected by the Principal, Priest Director, and Business Manager, with input from the faculty. A completed application must be submitted. John Scioli Memorial Scholarship - This scholarship is made available through interest accumulated in the John Scioli Memorial Fund. The 1999 award will be between $150.00 and $250.00. The criteria: This scholarship is given to a student entering grades 6, 7, or 8 who has shown academic achievement and who exemplifies Christian values at Saint Paul School. The recipient is selected by the Principal, the Priest Director, and the Business Manager with input from the faculty. A completed application must be submitted. Daughters of Mary Scholarship - This scholarship has been established in honor of the Daughters of Mary of the Immaculate Conception, who have dutifully served Saint Paul School for so many years. The criteria: This award is given to a student entering grades 1, 2, or 3, who has shown academic effort and exemplifies Christian values at Saint Paul School. The amount has yet to be determined. The recipient is selected by the Principal, Priest Director, and Business Manager, with input from the faculty. A completed application must be submitted. St. Paul Ladies Guild Scholarships - These scholarships were established for the furtherance of Catholic School education. Four (4) annual awards in the amount of $150.00, to four (4) 6h grade students who had previously attended Saint Paul School as a 5,h grade student. These awards are based on achievement. The recipients are selected by the Principal, Priest Director, and Business Manager, with input from the faculty. A completed application must be submitted. Monsignor Thomas L. Greylish Memorial Scholarship - This scholarship is in the amount of $200.00 annually, to be awarded to a 7th grade student continuing their education at St. Paul School who excels in the subject of Religion. The recipient is selected by the Principal, Priest Director, and Business Manager, with input from the faculty, A completed application must be submitted. Financial Assistance Grants: Each year limited funds are made available in order to help those families with financial need. The monies are donated by parishioners and alumni in the form of the Memorial Tree, anonymous donations, and the Principal's Fund. The total amount available varies from year to year and is usually less than $1000.00. Individual awards range from $100.00 to $300.00. The criteria: Awarded to students based solely on financial need. A completed application and W-2 Form must be submitted. ALL Applications are due in the school office by October 15, 1999 Recipients will be notified by November 1st. All awards and scholarships are credited toward tuition (K through 8) for the 1999-2000 School Year.
