michael.jpg (179470 bytes)    St. Paul Parish has an active, enthusiastic and diverse Music Ministry.  We have three choirs and several talented cantors.

What does it take to be part of our Music Ministry?  We're looking for people who recognize the value of musical prayer in their own worship and who wish to share that experience.  The skill of reading music is helpful but not necessary.  Most important is the ability to sing in tune (most of humankind!), to listen, and to meet rehearsal requirements.  A brief and easy audition may be required.  The two main choirs, the Sanctuary Choir and the Folk Group, happily accept singers from high school age and older.  We encourage more young people to consider.  Singers and many instrumentalists will find a welcome group of friendly faces.

Our Music Director is Mr. Michael Mainella.  In addition to coordinating all of Music Ministry and serving as the Parish Organist, he it the director of the Sanctuary Choir.

choir2.jpg (9239 bytes)     The Sanctuary Choir sings weekly at the 10:30 AM Sunday Mass.  Directed by organist Michael Mainella, they sing a blend of traditional, ancient and contemporary styles, alternating congregation singing with choir solos.  They rehearse on Thursday evenings weekly.

The Folk Group leads the singing on three out of four Saturdays a month at the 5 PM Mass.  The music is contemporary, the lyrics extremely touching and members of the group have a lot of fun together.   Sallie Caliandri applies her skill and experience as coordinator.  They rehearse on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 PM in the Church Hall.  Stop by--bring a good voice, an instrument or simply a smile!

exult.jpg (6911 bytes)Exultations! is a children's choir for boys and girls in kindergarten through fifth grade.  Directed by Diane Roncaioli, it's a great way for children to share their gifts and talents, experiencing faith in action.   Exultations! performs twice a year, at Christmas and Easter.  Rehearsals begin six weeks before the performance, once a week, from 6:00 - 6:45 PM in the church.
