St. Mark Parish has embraced the Generations of Faith model of Religious Education. All members of the parish family are invited and welcomed to monthly festivals of learning.
The parish center is decorated to enhance the experience. Dinner is served to all of our guests while discussion, centered on the theme, is encouraged. Through the creative arts such as music, drama, and storytelling, the theme is further developed.
Included in the festival is time for age appropriate instruction, culminating with intergenerational sharing. An intergenerational prayer experience is an important part of every gathering.
Home kits are used as a resource to continue the learning experience until the next Generations of Faith event.
Our children and teens meet for traditional classes to prepare for the Sacraments according to the following schedule:
Each Sunday from 9:00-10:10 am Reconciliation and First Communion classes
One Sunday evening a month from 6:30-8:00 Ninth grade class for Confirmation studies
One Sunday evening a month from 6:30-8:00 Tenth grade and Youth Group for advanced Confirmation studies and youth activities
Parish community service events are announced throughout the year. Some traditional projects include: Trail Mix Night, Leaf Raking, Thanksgiving Food Collection, Christmas Craft Fair, Easter Egg Hunt, Senior Bingo, Baby-sitting for Generations of Faith, and Blood Drive.
Other service projects are announced as they arise.
