The
Parish Nurse Program
The Valley Parish Nurse program was instituted in 1989
after extensive research and planning between Griffin Hospital and
Catholic Family Services. The Parish Nurse is part of a team including the
Pastor and other volunteers. Her role is committed to helping the person
reach an optimum level of health in body, mind and spirit. She acts as
health educator, health counselor, facilitator/organizer and a referral
source.
The Parish Nurse works on a voluntary part-time basis,
on a schedule convenient to her and the parish.
Your Parish Nurse are: Eleanor Kurdy, RN and Barbara
Holub, RN. .
An office for the Parish Nurse is located in the
Rectory. Information will be forthcoming regarding office hours. Any
parishioner whether a health professional or ordinary lay person is
welcome to assist the Parish Nurse in developing the program at St.
Joseph's and becoming part of the health cabinet.
Blood pressure screenings will be taken
following each Mass when announced
in the Pre-K classroom near the sacristy.
The Parish Nurse may be contacted by calling the rectory
at 734-0402. Please check the glass covered bulletin board at the Main
entrance to the church for any news from the Parish Nurse.
