2008

Dear God, we live in a fallen world in which our virtues are in constant need of renewal.  Enkindle in us the fire of love for our neighbor, whatever his creed, color, or status.  Stir in us the desire for justice, whether for the unborn, the poor, or the persecuted.  Grow in us a love of truth, as known and revealed to us by your Son, Jesus.  And raise up in us the ability to respect all people, especially when called upon to evaluate others.  May we, as Martin Luther King said, “ Judge not by the color of one’s skin, but by the content of one’s character.”
