St
Mary School has been fully accredited through the Michigan Non-Public
Accrediting
Association since 1989, and received full Re-accreditation in 1997.
By
receiving the "Certification of Accreditation", St. Mary School is recognized
as
having high standards for academic and spiritual growth. All faculty members
have
teaching certificates and are involved in continuing their education. The school
adheres
to the guidelines and standards of the Michigan Association of Non-Public
Schools.
As
part of the re-accreditation process, a complete self-study of the school was done
by
staff, families, and members of the community during the 1996-97 school year.
The
many strengths of our school were identified, as well as recommended areas
for
improvement. This study is a useful tool as staff and community members
continue
to update and plan long range goals. Evaluation of our school and it's
program
is an ongoing process as we strive to be the best we can be.
St.
Mary School was founded in 1887 and boasts a tradition of high achievement
and
academic excellence - consistently graduating fine citizens and strong Christian
leaders.
Since 1989, we've experienced a dramatic 91% enrollment increase as
concerned
and interested parents have become more aware of the quality
value-centered
education available here. At the present time 201
students
from various ethnic and faith backgrounds are enrolled in Pre-K through
12th
grades. It is an exciting time of growth.
