FAMILY VOLUNTEERING: ADOPT-A-FLOWERBED
The adopt-a-flowerbed program allows individuals or families to adopt a flowerbed on the church grounds. Duties include weeding the flowerbed and maintaining the bed free from litter and debris for 1 year. Participants will also help plant the flowers or plants. The plants/flowers are provided. The Adopt-a-Flowerbed program is a great way to serve the parish on your time frame. You get to be outside to enjoy the weather, work with plants/flowers and enjoy the beautiful parish grounds. This program asks that volunteers visit their bed at least once every two weeks to weed, sweep and pick up trash. To sign up complete an online volunteer form (above) or email starons@stbchurch.org
Free Classes Offered for Parishioners by Volunteers
CROCHET CLASS: Learn the essentials of Crochet including holding the yarn and the hook and making the simplest crochet stitches. Learn how to read a basic store-bought crochet pattern and learn the stitches. This class is designed for absolute beginners (age 14 and up). You will finish the class with a completed scarf. Classes will be held for four Saturdays starting October 24 from 10-12N, in the Mini-hall. To sign up please email starons@stbchurch.org. Please put crochet in the subject line.
LIGHT WORKOUT CLASS: Join a fun Light Workout Class that consists of modified yoga poses, flexibility, strength and balance workouts - this is a great start for beginners or those returning to an exercise program who need that motivation to get on track. This class will be held Thursday evenings from Oct. 29 through Dec. 17 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. To register, please e-mail starons@stbchurch.org and put Light Workout Class in the subject. Space is limited. This class will be offered free of charge to parishioners thanks to the generosity of a Time and Talent volunteer instructor
