St. Bernard’s Prayer Shawl Ministry has been renamed “Mantles of Comfort of the Blessed Virgin Mary”. “Mantels of Mary” are blessed by Father Sextus and given to the sick and homebound. The mantles are created by women of the parish and are warm reminders of the unconditional love of our heavenly Father and our Blessed Mother. They remind us we are not alone in our sufferings as they wrap, enfold, and give comfort through Mary’s gentle intercession. The next gathering will be at St. Bernard School on Thursday, May 28th from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Teacher’s Lounge. The next two will be June 16th and June 30th, places yet to be determined. Please bring your knitting needles or crochet hooks and yarn and join them! They will be returning to the scriptural devotional book “The Song of the Seed” for the meditation and discussion while knitting. If you have any questions, call Kay Trautvetter or email at etrautvetter@indy.rr.com.
