No Less Human, Chair of Enable India, spina bifida sufferer)
at 7.30pm in the Fisher Hall. All welcome.
· Under UK Law, abortion is legal up to birth in
case of 'serious' disability. But in the last six years,
twenty-five abortions have been performed for cleft lip
or palate, easily correctable by surgery soon after birth.
· Ante-natal tests for Down's Syndrome result in
abortion in 95% of positive cases. Abortion is carried out
in 90% of cases where spina bifida is diagnosed, compared
with a 20% abortion rate in the general population.
· Is eugenic abortion compatible with disability
rights?
