- The baptism of a child is a significant
event in the life of the child's family and also the
family of the church. The Rite for Baptism calls for
parents and, where possible, godparents to be prepared
before the celebration takes place. The Sacrament of
Baptism is celebrated on Sunday afternoon as needed.
Instructions for parents of children to be baptized is by
appointment.

- Marriages

- The couple (one of whom must be a member
of the parish) should begin arrangements at least six
months in advance of the wedding date. The couple will
participate in pre-marriage preparation. The latest hour
for a wedding on Saturday is 2:00 p.m.

- If you wish to become a member of the St.
Hugh Parish community, please register at the Rectory
office. Those who are moving should notify the Parish
secretary.

- Religious Education

- The program at St. Hugh is structured to
accommodate pre-schoolers and the students from grades 1
through 10 who do not attend parochial schools.
Pre-school classes meet on Sunday
during the 11:00 a.m. mass. Grades 1 through 5 meet on Saturday
in the St. Hugh Hall from 10:00 a.m to 11:30 a.m.. Grades 6
through 10 meet on Monday in the St. Hugh Hall from 7:00 p.m. to
8:30 p.m..

Sick Calls
Chaplains are assigned by the
Archdiocese for all Catholic and non-Catholic hospitals, nursing
and convalescent homes, for celebration of the sacraments,
counseling and emergency calls.
Parish Council
The Parish Council is the means of
achieving full participation of the entire parish by giving all
parishioners a voice in encouraging, guiding and directing the
various aspects of parish life. Members of the Council are called
upon to merge their expertise, insights and their experiences out
of love and concern for those they serve. Four commissions
together with the parish staff comprise the organization of the
Parish Council. The commissions are Christian Service, Education,
Stewardship and Worship.
St. Hugh
St. Hugh was a Carthusian priest
and the Bishop of Lincoln, England in the 12th century. St. Hugh
Church is a Roman Catholic church in the Archdiocese of Detroit
and a member of the Southland Vicariate. The St. Hugh Parish was
founded on June 14, 1966.
