| Education Commission
The primary tasks of the Education Commission are to: 1. Implement the educational policies of the Archdiocese of Detroit. 2. Work with the professional staff in planning, implementing and evaluating parish education programs (elementary through adult). 3. Develop and implement specific objectives to address the parish goal(s) each year. The St. Gerald Religious Education program offers catechesism for children from ages 3 through 14 (8th grade). Our catechists and students share and grow in faith as they journey together. We have a dedicated staff of volunteers, trained as catechists, who help lead our children in catechesism. The Youth Ministry is an opportunity for teens to gather together to explore their faith and to explore the Catholic Church. As young people continue to grow, they need help bridging the gap between adolescence and adulthood. Young people need to feel connected to the Church. Youth Ministry offers that feeling of belonging. Volunteers are needed.
The RCIA Process and the Couple-to-Couple Program are occasions for
members of St. Gerald community to share in the responsibility of the formation
