Christian Service Commission

The primary functions of the Christian Service Commission are to:

1. Determine the social and justice needs of the community and communicate with the parish the action needed to resolve those needs and achieve justice.

2. Coordinate the efforts of the parish service organizations (St. Vincent de Paul, Food Pantry, etc.).

3. Conduct and organize programs for visiting the sick, homebound and lonely.

4. Increase the number of parish people involved in Christian Service.

5. Conduct an organized program for welcoming new parishioners.

Volunteers are needed to help in all of Christian Services activities. No experience is necessary, as training will be provided. Christian Service activities include:

  • Card Ministry
  • St. Vincent de Paul Volunteer. The St. Vincent de Paul Society meets monthly to discuss procedures for helping the needy in our community. They also make periodic home visits (in pairs) to people who have asked for help to determine the need. Contact Fr. McEnhill or the Christian Service.

  • Visitor for Homebound Persons
  • Botsford Continuing Care Center Helper
  • Courtyard Manor Sunday Volunteer
  • Funeral Luncheon Volunteer
  • Christmas Gift Project Volunteer
  • Baker for various parish events
  • Prepare food/appetizers for various parish events
  • Driver to provide occasional transportation
  • Fellowship Sunday Server
