All Saints Day
For “All Saints Day”, youth group will be going to mass from 7-8p.m. And then afterwards create a confirmation banner from 8-9p.m.
What is “All Saints Day”? All Saints Day, is also called Allhallows or Hallowmas, is a festival celebrated on November 1 in the Roman Catholic and Anglican churches, and by the Orthodox churches on the first Sunday after Pentecost, in honor of God and all his saints, known and unknown. It became established as a church festival early in the 7th century when the Pantheon in Rome was consecrated as the Church of the Blessed Virgin and All Martyrs

Shopping Time?
Well, not really.  It is time for the “Shopping Cart Service Scavenger Hunt”.  For all those who don’t know what that is, well you’ll just have to be left in suspense and come to youth group on 11/8/2K.  Fine, I’m not that mean.  It’s when youth group splits in 2 groups and whoever can collect the most food on their cool decorated shopping cart, wins.  It’s really fun, but make sure you don’t go to fast around cornors. Someone learned that the hard way, not mentioning any names.  So come join us on 11/8/2k from 7-9p.m. hope to see you there.  And the confirmation class of 2001 is also welcome.

Thanksgiving
You all know what Thanksgiving is, so here is some facts that relate to this day. After the Plymouth colonists completed the first harvest in 1621, Governor William Bradford proclaimed a day of thanksgiving and prayer, shared by all the colonists and neighboring Native Americans.  So every November, people celebrate Thanksgiving with friends and family.

The Funny Section
One Sunday morning, the pastor noticed little Johnny standing in the foyer of the church, looking at a large plaque that hung there. After the young man of seven had stood there for some time, the pastor walked up beside him and said quietly, "Good morning, son." "Good morning, Pastor," replied the youngster, not taking his eyes off the plaque. "Can I ask you, Sir -- What is this for? Why are all these names listed on here?" "Well, son, these are all the people who have died in the service," replied the pastor. Soberly, they stood together, staring up at the large plaque. Little Johnny's voice barely broke the silence when he asked quietly, "Which one, Sir, the 8:30 or the 10:30?"

Since I found some really good jokes, I’ll put another one in here for your enjoyment.
Two men arrive at the Pearly Gates at about the same time, both wanting to know if they will be admitted to heaven. St. Peter asks the first man his name, where he is from, and what he did in life. The man answers that he is John Smith and that he was a taxi driver in New York City. St. Peter looks through his book, then gives the man a luxurious silken robe and a golden staff, and bids him welcome into heaven for his eternal reward. St. Peter then asks the second man the same questions. He replies that his name is Thomas Malley, and that he was a Catholic priest in Chicago. St. Peter looks in his book, then gives him a cotton robe and a wooden staff, and bids him to enter into heaven for his eternal reward. Father Malley says, wait a minute! Why did that taxi driver get a silken robe and golden staff while I, a Catholic Priest and a man of The Lord, got a cotton robe and wooden staff? St. Peter told him that the rewards in heaven are based on results, and while Father Malley preached, people slept, but while John Smith drove, people prayed!
